The male players of the University Sports Team proved themselves at the International Handball Federation Cup tournament, which was held in China's Hong Kong from June 28 to July 2.
The tournament drew six countries including the DPRK.
Coach Ri Myong Song led his teams flexiblely with quick decision making and competent guidance in response to the changing situations of the games.
Left forward Pak Jong Gon scored 31 goals as he threatened the opponents' goal areas with sudden midium-distance shots, and won the top scorer prize. And Kang Il Hyok as the play-maker gave full play to his forte in attack and defence, scoring 29 goals, which earned him the best player prize.
Meanwhile, Ro Il Gwang, Hwang Song Il and Mun Ik Bom also played their part in leading their side by assisting two-to-three forays.

Players of Kim Chaek University of Technology acquitted themselves well at the Mangyongdae Prize Games in Celebration of the Day of the Sun in April.
Pak Sin Il won the 49kg category boxing (first grade), Ri Tok Jin and Choe Kwang Won at the 49kg and 81kg boxing categories (youth grade) and Jong Nam Yong at the 100kg category judo event (first grade) by overpowering all the rivals.
In addition, many players reached the podium to encourage the teaching staff and students of the university, including Jang Hyok finished runner-up at the 75kg boxing (first grade), Yung Kwang Song at the 81kg boxing (youth grade), Ho Chol Ryong, Ri Ik Hyon and Pak Song Jun at the 73kg, 81kg and 100kg judo categories (youth grade), Kim Nam Myong at the 10 000m track and field (first grade) and Song Tae Gwan at the field 1 relay race of marathon (first grade).

On the occasion of the Day of the Sun, a greatest national holiday, the teaching staff and students of Kim Chaek University of Technology held various sports and amusement games at the gym and playground on April 15.
The teaching staff competed in group running, mass rhythmic exercise and health-promoting Taekwon-Do in the playground.
In these team competitions, contestants fully demonstrated their sense of organization and unity.
There were final matches of volleyball, table tennis, tennis, badminton, janggi (Korean chess) and yut (four-stick game) of teaching staff at the gym.
The IT Institute took the first place, the College of Mechanical Science and Technology finished runner-up and Distance Education College came third in the total rankings.
The teaching staff’s competition was followed by students’ final matches. In the events of tug-of-war, volleyball, basketball, table tennis and other sports and amusement games, players showed high techniques they had honed through ordinary training and heated up cheering atmosphere, thus adding more to the competitive spirit of the contestants.
The College of Information Science and Technology topped the total rankings, followed by the College of Mechanical Science and Technology and the Materials Engineering Faculty.

As Merited Scientist, associate professor, PhD and head of the Institute of Electric Power System, he rendered distinguished services in a research to develop and introduce the Korean-style wagon-type high speed lift control and management system for the Masikryong Ski Resort.
He resolved key problems arising in its development above anybody else to ensure further success and led other researchers to carrying out their tasks by dint of self-development and in the spirit of collectivism. His research team, who always regarded it as their iron rule to complete assigned tasks on the highest level, developed the system flawlessly to enhance the stability and reliability of ski lift.
They also updated the card-based management and operation system of the Masikryong Ski Resort to ensure the correctness and promptness of management and operation and gave satisfactory solutions to other problems arising in its operation.

A celebratory performance prepared by the teaching staff and students of Kim Chaek University of Technology was given at the university gym on April 13 in the run-up to the Day of the Sun, one of the greatest national holidays.

The teaching staff and students of Kim Chaek University of Technology visited the birthplace of President
They laid bouquets and flowers at the graves of President
And they visited the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Museum with immense yearning for the President, saviour of national resurrection and founder of socialist Korea. Looking at historic mementoes and materials which are preserved in their original state, they looked back upon the noble careers of the President who had devoted his lifetime to the country and people with his gifted ideological and theoretical intelligence, outstanding leadership ability and noble virtue, as well as of his revolutionary family members who had carried on the revolutionary and patriotic lineage generation after generation.
At the courtyard of a straw-thatched old home at Mangyongdae where the President was born and grown up to be a great revolutionary, they looked at historic relics showing the revolutionary life and lofty virtue of the President and his family members.
